Founded in 1878, First Baptist has been at its present site since 1890. The church continues to minister to the entire family. There are special programs for the children and youth, activities for senior adults, regular Bible study and Bible centered preaching, and a music program that sets the spirit for worship. First Baptist Church is a co-operating member of the Tampa Bay Baptist Association, the Florida Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Belief
First Baptist Church exists to evangelize the lost, edify the saved, minister to the needs of others, and to live as examples for the community.
Our History
On June 2, 1878, the church was constituted as Double Branch Missionary Church. Thirty-four adults became charter members of the church. The name came from two branches of water converging nearby. In 1885 the church became a member of the Hernando Baptist Association and the Florida Baptist Convention. In 1887 Pasco County divided from Hernando County and the Pasco Baptist Association was founded where the church was a charter member. In 1890, several acres of land on State Road 54 were donated to the church for future expansion and growth.
Statement of Faith
We are a Christ-centered body of believers who exist to glorify God through sound Biblical teaching, family fellowship, genuine discipleship, and a Christian witness throughout the community.
